Shiatsu
This translated literally means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese. Shiatsu uses the same system of meridians and pressure points as acupuncture but without the needles. Thumb, finger, and elbow pressure may be used instead, along with joint rotations and deep stretches. Shiatsu can help with many physical and emotional symptoms.

Pregnancy, Labour and Postnatal work.
Having specialised and trained with ‘Well Mother’ this is a field I am particularly passionate about. Shiatsu can be used throughout the three trimesters of pregnancy and different points and meridians used to support the women depending on her symptoms ie, nausea, backache, oedema. It is also great for connecting with your baby. Partner work can be done to show useful positions for labour and points to use for pain relief. Exercises can also be shown for different stages to encourage energy flow. Postnatal work is gentle and strengthening and can be incorporated with the newborn. Points/massage may also be shown for babies.

Indian Head Massage
A typical treatment is carried out with the receiver sitting upright in a chair. Techniques are performed through the clothing. Oil is optional for the neck and scalp. Techniques are applied to the upper back, shoulders, arms, hands, neck, scalp and face. It feels invigorating and induces feelings of clarity. Some of the benefits are; improved circulation to the upper body and hair follicles, helps relieve muscle tension, relieves mental tension, helps clear nasal and sinus congestion and can relieve eye strain.

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage
Traditional Thai Massage is a 2500-year-old technique for relaxing the body and quietening the mind. It can help to relieve many physical problems such as back pain, tense shoulders and neck, stiffness, poor posture, indigestion and sciatica as well as more mental problems like stress and lethargy.

the basic form of the massage is performed fully clothed (no oils are used) on a mat on the floor. The technique involves putting gentle but firm pressure on the body with the palms and thumbs, as well as relaxing stretching of the limbs and back. In this way it works effectively on skin, muscle, the organs and the skeletal structure. Blood and lymph circulation is increased and waste substances are removed from tissues.
